We understand the importance of protecting children's privacy and creating a safe educational experience for students, parents, educators, and youth organizations. We designed the Platform to support supervised educational activities while limiting unnecessary collection and use of personal information.
Klassy ("Company," "we," "our," or "us") respects the privacy of children, parents, educators, and program participants. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, retain, and protect information in connection with our educational technology platform, applications, software, artificial intelligence tools, chatbot functionality, adaptive learning tools, tutoring assistance features, educational content, and related services (collectively, the "Platform").
This Privacy Policy applies to individuals who access, use, participate in, or interact with the Platform, including participants in educational or youth programs using the Platform.
The Platform may be used by children participating in supervised educational or youth programs. We collect and process limited information relating to child users only as reasonably necessary to provide, operate, support, secure, improve, and administer the Platform and related educational services. Where required by applicable law, including the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act ("COPPA"), we obtain consent from a parent or legal guardian before permitting a child to access or use the Platform. We do not knowingly sell children's personal information or use children's personal information for targeted advertising purposes.
We strive to limit collection of personal information to what is reasonably necessary to operate, support, improve, and secure the Platform and related educational activities. We may collect the following categories of information:

We may use Participant interactions, prompts, submissions, responses, and interactions with AI Features as reasonably necessary to operate, maintain, support, monitor, moderate, secure, improve, train, and develop the Platform and related AI Features, subject to applicable law. We do not use children's personal information for targeted advertising or behavioral advertising purposes.
The Platform may include artificial intelligence, machine learning, chatbot functionality, adaptive learning tools, tutoring assistance features, automated recommendations, and AI-generated educational content ("AI Features"). We strive to maintain a safe, supportive, and positive educational environment for participants using the Platform.
To help support safety, improve the quality and reliability of AI Features, prevent misuse, troubleshoot technical issues, and protect users and the Platform, Company may monitor, review, retain, filter, analyze, or moderate certain interactions with the Platform and AI Features. Interactions with AI Features may be monitored, reviewed, retained, filtered, analyzed, or moderated for safety and moderation, AI safety review, abuse prevention, quality assurance, troubleshooting, analytics, legal compliance, support, and product development and improvement.
AI-generated outputs may be inaccurate, incomplete, biased, inappropriate, or misleading. The Platform is intended solely as a supplemental educational resource and not as a substitute for professional instruction, counseling, medical advice, legal advice, or other professional services.
We may disclose information: to service providers, contractors, vendors, and subprocessors that support operation of the Platform; to cloud hosting providers; to artificial intelligence and machine learning providers; to analytics, authentication, and security providers; to organizations or educational programs administering access to the Platform; where required by law, subpoena, court order, or legal process; to protect the safety, rights, property, or security of users or others; or with parent or user consent. We may also disclose aggregated, anonymized, or de-identified information that cannot reasonably identify an individual.
We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to: provide and operate the Platform; support educational and program activities; comply with legal obligations; resolve disputes; enforce agreements; conduct safety and moderation activities; improve and develop the Platform; and maintain appropriate business and operational records. We may retain aggregated, anonymized, or de-identified information indefinitely.
We implement commercially reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information from unauthorized access, disclosure, misuse, alteration, or destruction. However, no platform, internet transmission, or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Subject to applicable law, parents or legal guardians may request to: review information relating to their child; correct inaccurate information; request deletion of information; revoke consent for future collection or use; or ask questions regarding our privacy practices. Requests may be submitted to: privacy@klassylearning.com. Revocation of consent may result in the child no longer being able to access or participate in the Platform or related programs.
We may use cookies, analytics tools, log files, pixels, and similar technologies to: operate and secure the Platform; authenticate users; understand Platform usage; improve performance and functionality; and support analytics and troubleshooting activities. Users may be able to adjust browser settings to limit certain cookies or tracking technologies; however, portions of the Platform may not function properly without them.
The Platform may rely on or integrate with third-party providers, including cloud hosting providers, AI providers, analytics providers, authentication providers, communication tools, and related vendors. We are not responsible for the independent privacy or security practices of third-party services except as required by applicable law.
We do not sell personal information as defined under applicable California privacy laws. We do not knowingly use children's personal information for targeted advertising purposes. Subject to applicable law, California residents may have additional rights regarding access to, correction of, deletion of, or information regarding personal information collected about them.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updated versions will be posted on the Platform with a revised effective date. Continued use of the Platform following an updated Privacy Policy constitutes acknowledgment of the updated Privacy Policy.
